Beyoncé’s Houston Concert Draws Protest from Local Officers Still Fuming Over ‘Formation’ Video

Over Mother’s Day weekend, members of the Coalition for Police and Sheriffs held protests near the NRG Stadium Saturday in Houston because they feel the singer is anti-police.

According to a report by Houston’s KHOU, the members of COPS are protesting the singer because they believe her Super Bowl 50 half-time show and the single “Formation” — off her album Lemonadeis full of anti-police messages.

“Some of her performances we believe to be anti-police,” said Tony Ragsdale, who is a member of COPS and the Pasadena Police Department.

However, the singer addressed these concerns earlier this year.

“I have so much admiration and respect for officers and the families of officers,” Beyoncé told Elle Magazine. “Anyone who perceives my message as anti-police is completely mistaken.”
