Donald Trump Refuses to Denounce KKK Grand Wizard David Duke, But What If the Candidate was Black?

Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump claims ignorance after reluctantly disavowing former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke. Trump stopped short of repudiating Duke’s endorsement by saying he “doesn’t know anything about David Duke… I don’t know anything about what you are even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists.”

In stark comparison, the then Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama was repeatedly pressured until he denounced the endorsements of both his former spiritual leader Rev. Richard Wright and Min. Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam in 2008.

Did race play a part in why President Obama had to go further than Trump to be perceived as sufficiently denouncing a controversial endorsement?
