The Twitter Beefs Were Getting Old
It seemed like a week could barely go by before Iggy Azalea was stirring up more online drama. From her ongoing feud with rapper Azalea Banks, who once shared nothing but loving words about Iggy, to her verbal confrontation with rap legend Snoop Dogg, she was always stirring up trouble. It got to the point that her own mentor, rapper T.I., just wanted her to be quiet.
When a TMZ cameraman asked T.I. if Iggy needed to be responding to everything via social media, he had a surprising response considering how much time he has spent defending her. “Absolutely not, I think she should focus on what got her here and that’s her music,” he answered, although many would argue with that statement. He went on to agree with the cameraman that Iggy needs to “leave all the drama alone.”
Her Tendency to Play the Victim Even as She Attacked Others
After defending her own racist tweets, offensive jabs at both people and corporations, literally giving her fans the middle finger, stirring up drama with Azalea Banks despite her constant attempts to be kind to the Australian rapper, among many other rude and vicious behaviors, Iggy Azalea always claimed she was the victim. When she finally announced that she would be signing off Twitter for a while she insisted that social media was “negative and draining” before adding that the “internet is the ugliest reflection of man kind there is.” She also failed to note that the “bullying” that she insisted was being specifically aimed at her is the same type of media treatment that all celebrities encounter. Singer Rihanna has yet to make a big fuss about the fact that she has been targeted by many Internet memes and gifs. “Iggy white privilege will get you on Billboard,” one Instagram user commented on a photo of the hip-hop star. “It will NOT get you special treatment online.”
