Did the Solange and Jay Z elevator fight keep Beyonce and Jay Z from attending Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding?
The rumor certainly hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s one of the rumored reasons the Carters decided to enjoy a vacation in The Hamptons instead of joining Kardashian and West in Florence, Italy, for their wedding.
While the couple kicked off their European wedding activities, Beyonce and Jay Z were enjoying some quality time here in the U.S.
The powerhouse songstress posted a makeup-free photo of herself on Instagram on Saturday, showing off some long braids.
That same morning, Kardashian and West were photographed showing up to the wedding location.
Hollywood Life reported that the Carters did not want another run-in with fashion designer Rachel Roy after Beyonce’s sister Solange got into a heated confrontation with her at the Met Gala.
The argument with Roy is rumored to be what sparked Solange’s attack on Jay Z in the elevator later that night.
Other rumors suggest that the Carters decided to skip out on the wedding when they realized it wasn’t going to be much of a private affair.
The Daily Mail reported that Beyonce and Jay Z had agreed to attend the ceremony if there wouldn’t be any filming during the celebration.
Saturday morning, however, Kardashian and West were already being photographed, and the Daily Mail’s anonymous sources say that was enough to make the Carters change their minds.
Rumors also have sparked that the bride’s mother, Kris Jenner, plans to sell photos from the wedding for a very steep price.
While West’s best pal and his proclaimed “little sister” were not at the wedding, Beyonce still took to Instagram to wish the couple well.
“Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love,” Beyonce wrote under the image she posted from the newlywed’s Vogue spread. “God bless your beautiful family.”
Jay Z was rumored to be the best man for the wedding and it’s unclear how the couple felt about having a member of the wedding bail out.
The Carters weren’t the only ones who decided not to attend.
Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour also declined the invitation due to a previous engagement.
“Anna had a longstanding family commitment this weekend and sadly had to miss the wedding,” a spokeswoman for Vogue confirmed.
Although Wintour couldn’t make it, famed Vogue editor Andre Leon Talley was in attendance.
