In the investigation of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Child Protective Services (CPS) has reached out to the couple’s daughter Willow and is now seeking to talk to Disney star Moises Arias as well.
A black and white Instagram photo of 13-year-old Willow lying in bed next to shirtless, 20-year-old Moises has caused quite a stir for the Smith family.
The photo has been used as grounds for investigation by CPS officials who have questioned Willow on multiple occasions.
“Willow was questioned on two separate occasions by social workers from Child Protective Services,” Radar reports. “Once in the presence of her parents, and the second time, Willow was alone with the workers.”
Willow told investigators that her relationship with Moises is far from inappropriate and that he was merely a friend of her older brother Jaden.
The source went on to explain that this “is how all investigations are handled” and that both Will and Jada will have to answer questions as well.
Reports claim that it could be several weeks before the investigation is closed.
So far, however, Will and Jada have reportedly been “extremely cooperative with officials” and “understand” the concern expressed by CPS.
In addition to questioning the family, however, it was recently revealed that investigators want to talk to Moises, but can’t force the star to talk if he doesn’t want to.
“Social workers would like to talk to Willow’s friend, Moises, about the photo which depecits them on the same bed together,” another source claims. “This is standard procedure for all investigations. There have been no allegations of any wrongdoing or illegal activity by Moises.”
The source went on to say that Moises is “under no obligation to talk to authorities.”
It is believed that the social workers just want to know what adult supervision was present during the time the photo was taken.
The Division of Family and Children Services said that is has the “sole focus” of making “sure children are in a safe and loving environment.”
Will and Jada have been under investigation ever since an anonymous tipster alerted CPS of the controversial Instagram photo.
Moises posted the photo to his Instagram but quickly removed it after the backlash started to pour in.
The photo does capture both Willow and Moises on a bed together, but the young stars do not appear to be touching at all.
Willow is also fully clothed in the image and at least one other person had to be present in the room to take the photo.
It is unclear, however, who took the photo.
