Jay Z, Beyonce Drop Concert Promo Video, While ‘SNL’ Spoofs Elevator Fight

Jay Z and Beyonce have released a star-studded promo video for their upcoming joint tour, while “Saturday Night Live” provided a new theory for what caused the elevator fight between Jay Z and Solange, Beyonce’s sister, at a Met Gala afterparty earlier this month.

With a little more than a month left before Jay Z and Beyonce kick off their first joint tour “On the Run,” the Carters have released an incredibly enticing promotional video starring several of their famous friends.

The Carters have always been known to do things out of the ordinary – from Beyonce’s surprise album to Jay Z’s unique deal with Samsung – and this promo video is certainly no exception.

Instead of featuring musical clips or interview excerpts, the video is created to look more like an action-packed movie trailer.

As if Beyonce and Jay Z didn’t bring enough star power, Don Cheadle, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida and Kidada Jones, Sean Penn, Emmy Rossum and Guillermo Diaz are also featured in the video.

The video gives a sexy, modern twist to the story of Bonnie and Clyde that is only fitting for the dynamic duo.

In addition to packing the trailer with action, the video even includes some comedy.

As Beyonce, covered in blood, stands with the Jones sisters in a police lineup, the background music stops for a moment to let in some comic relief.

Rashida looks at Beyonce’s blood-covered ensemble and then turns back to the police before yelling, “I mean, come on!”

The end of the video brings unfortunate news, however, announcing that the action-packed love story won’t ever be produced as a real movie.

Saturday Night Live skin of Jay Z Solange Met Gala fight Just one look at the video, and you’ll most certainly wish it was.

Meanwhile, “Saturday Night Live” debuted its own creative project about the Carters.

With all kinds of rumors and speculation about what happened in the elevator between Jay Z and Solange on the night of the Met Gala, the comedy skit’s theory was simple – Solange was helping to get a spider off her brother-in-law.

The original security footage of the incident did not have any audio, until now.

In the skit, Jay Z and Solange were played by Jay Pharoah and Sasheer Zamata respectively.

The bodyguard in the tape is being played Kenan Thompson who makes sudden moves to protect the faux Jay Z from the Solange impersonator almost every time she starts to speak.

After explaining that they still love each other and also addressing Beyonce’s absence, they reveal the elevator footage where Solange is attempting to kick a spider off Jay Z who admits that he has arachnophobia.

Eventually, actress and former “SNL” cast member Maya Rudolph appears playing the role of Beyonce and explains the incident again using popular Beyonce lyrics.
