Kobe Bryant is a man of his word: Carter V Season is indeed upon us.  Lil Wayne has revealed his new single, “Believe Me,” apparently the first track from his new album. The methodical, psychedelic rap song features a guest appearance from frequent collaborator and lint roller-enthusiast Drake, in addition to production from Boi-1da and Vinylz.

Drake handles the first verse, expressing his appreciation for his longtime mentor: “That’s the man that put me in this sh** / If a n*** f*** wit’ ’em I put ’em down quick / Got a verse for anybody who wanna talk about the clique.”  Meanwhile, Weezy rightfully defends his place in hip-hop history: “I’m the only one that get the job done / I don’t know a n*** that can cover for me.”

It was previously reported that Lil Wayne would drop Tha Carter V — possibly his final album ever — on May 5, perhaps as a surprise release a la Beyonce. There’s nothing new on that front, but keep an eye out nonetheless.
