Busta Rhymes and Jay Z
Some of the biggest future stars of hip hop converged at a Brooklyn high school. Busta Rhymes, Jay Z and the late Notorious B.I.G attended George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School together.
Busta Rhymes told Sway of MTV’s Rapfix Live of days of battling Jay Z in the cafeteria, “One day, somebody came up to me and was like, ‘Yo, Hov is in the cafeteria.’ He was so ill and his arsenal was so long that he had more than what I did. I spit my one rap, and my tank was empty real fast.”
Cameron Diaz and Snoop Dogg
Before rapper Snoop Dogg blasted onto the music scene at 21 years old, he was walking the same halls as another soon-to-be film star at Long Beach Polytechnic High School. Actress Cameron Diaz joked to one-time talk-show host George Lopez about her possible interaction with the rapper. “He was a year older than me…I remember him; he was very tall and skinny. He wore lots of ponytails”. She added, “And I’m pretty sure I bought weed from him.” Lopez later asked Snoop Dogg about Diaz’s statement. He joked, “I might have sold her some of that white-girl weed.”
