Beyoncé is always on the tip of the tongues of the entertainment world, however with her new self-titled surprise album every single move she makes is front-page news, and she makes that news look really good. Beyoncé dropped a new video from her “visual album” concept for the song “Yoncé”. The video features Bey and some models expressing a true representation of girl power. According to billboard.com:
“Beyoncé and a bevy of supermodels strut their stuff in the two-minute video for “Yoncé,” one of the 17 new clips to appear on her surprise new eponymous visual album. However, even though the song’s hook purrs, “Yoncé all on his mouth like liquor,” Queen Bey never opens her mouth in the video, leaving that instead to her model friends – Chanel Iman, Joan Smalls and Jourdan Dunn.
“Ricky Saiz, who directed the clip on a hot summer day in Brooklyn, said recently that he based the concept on George Michael’s “Freedom! ’90” video, which featured Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and other top models of the day. “That was the drop-off video,” he told the website The Cut.”It was amazing. We wanted to do something more contemporary and a bit more street and, of course, use iconic black women.”
Beyoncé is also seen smoking a cigar that appears to be from her husbands new “Comador Cigar” line. Must be nice being Jay Z and having the world’s most popular woman as a wife for product placement.
