Drake wlll be kicking off the new year with a bang. The Toronto rapper will be the first artist to host and perform in a highly coveted appearance on “Saturday Night Live.” According to billboard.com:
“It’s official: Drake will join Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and many more as musicians who have hosted “Saturday Night Live.”
“When the NBC sketch comedy show returns in the new year Jan. 18, the rapper will take the reins as both host and musical guest, the show confirmed on-air Saturday night during its Christmas episode with Jimmy Fallon and Timberlake.
“It won’t be the first appearance for Drake on “SNL.” He guested on the show in October 2011 for the ‘SNL’ Halloween episode, backing up Anna Faris and starring in two different sketches in addition to his musical guest duties.”
Drake is also nominated at the upcoming Grammys for “Best Rap Song” and “Best Rap Album”. So Drake may have started from the bottom, but 2014 could be a big year.
