On Wednesday night, Miami Heat star LeBron James told the Orlando Magic that they should worry about his sharp shooter teammate James Jones. They didn’t take heed to the warning and Jones made them pay.
Jones scored 14 points in the third quarter to help turn a once close game into a rout. James led the charge for Miami with 21 points and Jones finished with 17. At the end of the game, the Heat demolished the Magic 120-92 for their fifth straight victory.
Chris Bosh added 18 points for the Heat.
“My teammates rely on me,” Jones said. “They know what I’m capable of doing.”
Jones filled in for Dwayne Wade, who sat out to rest his minor knee injuries. Jones scored 4 for 5 from behind the three-point line in the third quarter alone.
“That’s what happens when you double,” James shouted to any Magic player who might be listening.
The game never got close again. Michael Beasley scored 14 points and Chris Andersen also added 10 for the Heat.
