Michael Vick: “The last thing I want to be is a distraction to this team”

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick‘s days as a starter are numbered since his teammate Nick Foles has produced two big wins  without any interceptions.

Foles has thrown a total of 10 touchdowns without one interception in both wins, and everybody knows that the player with the hot hand plays.

Unfortunately that means means Vick sits the bench. The veteran quarterback was asked if he could see himself as  Philly’s starter again and he replied:

“I don’t know. That’s not something that I’m thinking about at this point,” Vick told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “The last thing I want to be is a distraction to this team. I’m just working hard to get myself healthy.”

After being reminded that he once stated  that he  always views himself as a starter, Vick clarified his answer.

“I do consider myself a starter, but if coach has a viable explanation or good reason for why it should be anything different, I got to understand that,” he said. “He’s the coach. I’m the player… One thing about it, I’m confident in my abilities,” Vick added. “We all know what I can do when I’m out there. I’m just an asset to this team as long as I’m here.”
