Kanye West was reportedly obsessed over the details for his extravagant and perfectly choreographed proposal on Monday night which required him to get the entire Kardashian clan in on the surprise. Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian attended Kanye’s show for the first time as his fiancee with her mom Kris Jenner by her side.
West gave Kim the best gift she could have asked for on her 33rd birthday – the proposal she’s been waiting for.
More sources are finally allowed to speak up about the proposal and are dishing about all the planning that went into the big surprise for Kim.
As we previously reported, Kanye rented out the entire AT&T Stadium in San Francisco for the occasion and a 50-piece orchestra played as he proposed.
He also took advantage of the massive Jumbotron which had the message “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” displayed in large white letters.
Kim’s new fiance made sure he kept everything a secret, which meant he had to have the entire Kardashian clan in on the proposal and all of her family members had to immediately have their stories ready.
“Everybody had a story,” one source said. “All of the girls said they were in Arizona at a spa with their mom. That was a ruse. That was in order to throw Kim off – just to surprise her later. It was a complete secret. The coolest thing ever!”
Of course the entire Kardashian family was there, along with some of Kanye’s close friends and family and Kim’s best pals Jonathan Cheban and Robin Antin, all of whom he personally invited to witness the proposal.
The “New Slaves” rapper walked Kim into the stadium blindfolded and kept everything pitch black until it was time to pop the question .
“It was completely dark,” another source told US magazine. “Kim had no idea that any of her friends and family were there.”
After the proposal was accepted, all of Kim’s friends and family rushed out of their hiding spots in the dugout to shower the couple with congratulations.
Kanye cashed out over $400,000 just to rent out the stadium and field and his cost for the orchestra, fireworks display and catering means this is definitely one of the most expensive proposals of the year.
Not to mention that the engagement ring, which Kanye worked with jeweler Lorraine Schwartz to design, cost anywhere between $7 million to $8 million.
“This is exceptionally rare,” Forevermark Diamond expert Adelaide Polk-Bauman said. “Very few places in the world have diamonds such as that.”
Kanye’s new fiancee stayed in San Francisco with her mother to attend his show on Tuesday and she certainly looked like someone who just got engaged to hip-hop millionaire.
The 33-year-old reality star emerged from her hotel room in a posh fur coat that she wore over a black high-waisted pencil skirt and a lace-detailed camisole.
She ditched her usual platform heels for a simple gold single-sole heel.
Apparently, the fur coat was a bit too much for Kim’s concert attire where she was photographed wearing a nude-colored cardigan instead of the furry statement piece.
Kris was dressed in her usual black threads at the concert and understandably seemed less interested in the show than Kim, who remained standing for most of the two-hour set.
Of course, a slew of critics are already bashing Kim and Kanye’s engagement, but only time will tell if the couple will be able to stick it out.
