Rapper Kanye West and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel are finally set to face each other since their recent falling out. Kanye took exception to Kimmel spoofing an interview last month on BBC, which he views as “the first piece of honest media in years.”
Now Kanye is scheduled to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night, and hopefully the two can settle their differences.
According to spin.com:
“Kanye West will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, Oct. 8, according to ABC. No further details were offered, so it’s unclear whether or not the Yeezus MC will perform. That said, while the announcement is out-of-the-blue, there is certainly some precedent that must be addressed.”
There’s no telling on how Kanye and Kimmel will receive each other, but at the very least, their interaction promises to entertaining. Kanye has been quite passionate, as usual, about the interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, and Kimmel has appeared to be quite baffled about why Kanye is upset over the parody.
As previously reported by slate.com:
“Instead of trying to understand, Kimmel does the opposite: He revels in his lack of comprehension, and puts Kanye’s words in the mouth of a child, in order to infantilize him. The point of the joke is clear: I don’t understand these remarks, so clearly they are the nonsense talk of a small child.”
Kanye will probably express similar sentiments on the show, and hopefully the two will come to an understanding. Or maybe the whole thing is just another big prank from Jimmy Kimmel.
