Chiwetel Ejiofor Goes Django in New ’12 Years A Slave’ Trailer

A new teaser trailer for Steve McQueen’s “12 Years A Slave“  is now available on the Internet.  The reviews highlighted how the graphic footage makes “Django Unchained” look PG-13.

Unlike the previous clips, the new “12 Years A Slave“ trailer provides the first, although very brief, footage of some of this violence.  Chiwetel Ejiofor’s  Solomon Northup appears to be in a unilateral slave revolt against his slave master, played by Michael Fassbender. That’s right, he went Django on him.

The film, “12 Years A Slave,” is based on the autobiography of Solomon Northup, and follows the story of the free black man kidnapped and sold into slavery in 19th century America.

Ejiofor and Fassbender are joined by an all star cast of actors, including: Ruth Negga, Adepero Oduye, Alfre Woodard, Lupita Nyong’o, Paul Dano, Benedict Cumberbatch, Scott McNairy, Garret Dillahunt, Brad Pitt, Michael K. Williams, Paul Giamatti, Sarah Paulson and others.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters Oct. 8.
