Lamar Odom’s dad, Joe Odom, is finally speaking up about his son’s very public drug problem and he blames the Kardashians for Lamar’s hardships. Meanwhile, Lamar took to Twitter to put the blame right back on his father for being absent in his life and having his own substance abuse issues.
Everyone has been hoping that Lamar Odom would get the help he needs with his drug abuse problem, but it seems like he’s only getting more drama to deal with.
While the media painted a picture of Khloe Kardashian only wanting to help Lamar with his problem, Lamar’s father is painting quite the conflicting portrait.
Joe claims that the Kardashian Klan doesn’t care about his son and they’ve even “cursed” his NBA career.
In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Joe Odom let it all out.
“Someone’s got to speak out, I’ve got to do something about this,” he said. “It’s simple. They brought him down. He would be better off without them.”
Joe believes Kris Jenner, the Kardashian matriarch, is the source of all the negativity that has been damaging his son’s life.
“I blame Kris in particular, she’s been through a lot of stuff herself,” he said. “She’s no Cinderella.”
He went on to say that Kris is “very negative” and even called her “an evil b***h.”
“She doesn’t care about Lamar, she just cares about their image and money,” he added.
The finger-pointing didn’t stop with momager Kris Jenner either. Joe even feels that Lamar’s wife has some blame in the situation.
“I wish he had never got married to Khloe to be honest,” he continued. “She’s controlling. Those Kardashian women all are. You get married, they think they wear the pants. You just bring them your whole paycheck, that’s how it works.”
According to him, Khloe isn’t even the same person that she appears to be on reality TV.
“I saw her totally differently when I heard the way she talked privately,” he said. “It isn’t pleasant. In public she’s nice, but if you see her personally you see the real person come out of her. The mother’s like that too. The whole family, they put up an act.”
Kim couldn’t escape the insults either. Joe Odom dismissed the most famous Kardashian as nothing more than a porn star.
“I heard Kim say they don’t have crackheads in their family,” he said. “That pissed me off. Look at where she came from. We don’t want porno stars in our family.”
At the end of the lengthy interview, he pretty much threw his hat into the “Kardashian Kurse” ring and claimed the family has ruined his son’s career and personal life.
“It’s been the curse of his life,” he said. “He hasn’t really accomplished anything since he’s been with them. Without them, he’d still be in the NBA playing basketball. He’d be playing for the Lakers and be one of the top players in the league.”
So how does Lamar feel about all this?
Well, the NBA star has someone to blame for his problems, but he’s claiming that his father is the person who is responsible.
“Won’t continue 2 speak on this but I have got 2 let this out real quick,” Lamar tweeted. “I have let this man and many others get away with a lot of s**t. He wasn’t there 2 raise me. He was absent ALL of my life due to his own demons.”
He wrote that he was raised by his mother, grandmother and the streets of Queens, New York.
He then dropped a huge bomb, revealing that his father wasn’t even invited to his wedding.
Lamar also accused Joe of being the one who doesn’t care about him.
“How can a man who has NOT once called me to check on my well being have the nerve to talk to recklessly about his own ‘son,’ “ Lamar tweeted. “He is my downfall! His own demons may be the ONLY thing he gave 2 me.”
In the midst of all the pent-up emotions he finally released about his father, the NBA star admitted that his drug abuse problem is still his own responsibility.
“Only person 2 blame is myself,” he tweeted at the end of the rant. “Say what you want about me but leave the ones who have done nothing but protect and love me out of this! This goes out to everyone!”
Rumor has it that Lamar is finally getting some help for his drug abuse problem, and that his wife has been there to help him along the way. His father has remained outspoken, but absent.
