Pastor Rodney Willis Fired For Attending Lil Wayne, Rick Ross Concerts

Pastor Rodney Willis, 26, of Mt. Salem Baptist Church in North Carolina, had to learn the hard way that God and Rozay don’t mix. At least that is what the elders of his 109-year-old church think, since they fired him after he reportedly committed a major sin by attending Lil Wayne and Rick Ross rap concerts.

Mt. Salem’s deacon Miles Langley said: “We cannot have our leader supporting people of this world who are tearing down the kingdom of God,” which sounds like a pretty tall order for Lil Wayne and Rick Ross.

Willis received a warning about nine months ago after attending a Lil Wayne concert, but apparently defied the elders and attended a Rick Ross’ performance anyway. This was the last straw, and Mt. Salem Baptist Church’s youngest pastor was voted out by the deacons.

“We know that many saints will have mixed opinions from our actions, but this is not how we do things here at Mt. Salem,” he told America Preachers. “We cannot have a pastor praising the world one minute then praising the Lord the next. Period”

Mt. Salem will host guest pastors in the coming weeks until they appoint a new spiritual leader to replace  Willis.
