Stacey Dash Quotes Malcolm X to Rail Against Oprah Winfrey

Human rights activist and Muslim minister Malcolm X may not have been affiliated with any political party in the U.S., but that hasn’t stopped actress Stacey Dash from using one of his many powerful quotes in the fight between Democrats and Republicans.

Dash famously dumped the Democratic Party after what she felt was a disappointing first term by President Barack Obama.

The former “Clueless” actress publicly supported Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and hasn’t looked back since.

This past weekend, Dash had a chance to call out media mogul Oprah Winfrey for urging President Obama to stay off Fox News, a conservative news channel.

According to the Huff Post:

“The actress took to Twitter to post a link to a Fox News Insider article which slammed Oprah for comparing (Trayvon) Martin to Emmett Till and for saying that President Obama shouldn’t be ‘on Fox News every day.”

Dash tweeted a quote from Malcolm X to bring her point home:

“‘If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.’ ~ Malcolm X.”

She added, “Shame on you, Oprah.”

Stacey is still in permanent character for "Clueless"–what a cracked nut.

  2. Get a real job Stacey. Journalism is not your niche. Try resurrecting that dead career of hers. She keeps taking nude or semi nude "modeling" pictures etc..aka soft porn… She really is crying out for help from Hugh. Heffner that is. Good luck with that.

Well done Ms. Dash. There is no comparison between Emmett Till and Trayvon Martin. Oprah's opportunistic attempt to manipulate racial tension to promote a movie is beyond disgusting, and surprising. It's not what I'd expect from such an intelligent woman. Comparing the vicious murder of Till to Martin's death is truly shameful.

If you skip the mainstream media and dig into all of the background you can find, including police reports, the truth about Zimmerman, and so on, you find you have a want to be thug and an over zealous want to be cop with a gun. By all accounts from the people who know him of multiple races, including black, Zimmerman was no racist.

By engaging Martin, after he was asked to stay in the car, Zimmerman was responsible for getting his own ass kicked. By providing the aforementioned ass kicking, Martin was responsible for getting himself shot. Ultimately the fault belongs to his parents in my opinion. If I had a son, he wouldn't look like Trayvon Martin, i.e. a corpse. He'd have been at home studying, not cruising the streets for anything.

In comparing this incident, which is 99% manufactured by a media that loves create racial tension to the insanity of Emmett Till's murder, Oprah as spit on Till's grave for personal gain.

Like the President, she is seeking to take advantage of a largely marginalized population of blacks who still cling to the idea of racism almost as if it were a religion. I.e. racism is the god who forgives all your sins and failures, no questions asked. Don't have a job? Blame racism. Don't have a home? Blame racism. Pick an issue, and blame racism.

Oprah has joined the ranks of other "racialists" such as Charles Wrangle, Jessie Jackson, and Al Sharpton, i.e. people who profit from the accusation of racism, because she knows her largely uneducated target constituency will get the "racism holy ghost" and cheer her on. No she doesn't need the money, not like the others. This "racist" country has made Oprah incomprehensibly wealthy. She is among the 1% of the 1%, largely because of a devoted white audience. Racism indeed.

Oprah may be feeling something else the other racialists are feeling though and that is the onset of irrelevance. No one can deny the contributions of Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton back in the day of the civil rights movement, but as of late they've become anachronisms. Men out of time and place, still fighting the amorphous fantom of racism when if they truly wanted to do good, they would be fueling the engine of education and encouraging excellence, not hate, in the black community. Perhaps Oprah, with a largely failing network, and nothing much to do since the talk show ended, is feeling the same thing. Out of place, pointless, irrelevant.

  6. Michelle D Butler says:

Stacey needs to stick finding future men who impregnate her and leave or remaining on a televison show without becoming anti-social with her castmates. Important matters are she has no experience in; just saying!

  7. LaMetrius Jackson says:

What was the purpose of her using the quote? What was she trying to say?

  8. Am I the only one who agree with Stacey ?
