Orson Scott Card, the sci-fi writer who recently angered many in the gay community with his views on same-sex marriage, has compared Obama to Hitler in a 3,000 word essay.

According to The Guardian:

“In the essay, which was published on Card’s Civilization Watch blog and titled ‘Unlikely Events,’ the novelist posits a future where Obama rules as a ‘Hitler- or Stalin-style dictator’ complete with his own ‘national police force’ of  young out-of-work urban men.’ He also suggests that Obama and his wife, Michelle, might amend the U.S. Constitution to allow presidents to remain in power forever before the next presidential election and would then ‘win by 98 percent every time’. Adds the author: ‘That’s how it works in Nigeria and Zimbabwe; that’s how it worked in Hitler’s Germany.’

“Card labels the post ‘an experiment in fictional thinking,’ adding: ‘Will these things happen? Of course not.’ However, his work is unlikely to please executives at studio Lions Gate, already on the back foot over Ender’s Game after many – including gay group Geeks Out – highlighted Card’s opposition to same-sex marriage in the U.S. and suggested film-goers might consider boycotting the upcoming movie based on his 1984 novel.”

Card’s Most Controversial Statements about President Obama, according to The Guardian:

“Having been anointed from the start of his career because he was that magical combination — a black man who talks like a white man (that’s what they mean by calling him ‘articulate’ and a ‘great speaker’) — he has never had to work for a living, and he has never had to struggle to accomplish goals. He despises ordinary people, is hostile to any religion that doesn’t have Obama as its deity, and his contempt for the military is complete.

“Obama already acts as if the Constitution were just for show. Like Augustus, he pretends to govern within its framework, but in fact he treats it with contempt.

“And you can be sure that those unionized teachers who spewed venom and hatred in Wisconsin will be ready to brainwash America’s children about the glories of Obama-style ‘freedom.’ Any teachers who don’t follow the union program will be fired.

“Obama is, by character and preference, a dictator. He hates the very idea of compromise; he demonizes his critics and despises even his own toadies in the liberal press. He circumvented Congress as soon as he got into office by appointing ‘czars’  who didn’t need Senate approval.”

  1. Sounds like Mr. Card is quietly promoting an Obama Anti Christ theory along with the overused birther insinuations. Please look at America's faith in Congress.. lowest it has EVER been. Checks and balances will not allow his suggestion of the President and our First Lady trying to push-through an amendment to crown him King of America forever. Sad that the GOP hate mentality has to be used by someone who found celebrity in the written word. I for one will not buy a ticket to his film after reading the hate mongering of a writer who uses his insulting remarks to demean the twice elected president of our United States.

  2. Carol Jamieson Heck says:

i would hazard a guess that our duly elected and re-elected president has been the target of hate mongering enmass by the media and republican ran congress since the day the election results were announced. God bless you Mr. President.

  3. Dmax Lomax says:

I would like to know how he feels about bush and all of his war dances when he knows they had no reason to go to war. Just a thought. I as well, do not agree with everything President Obama has done, but I also felt the same way about the previous Presidents. Sound like bitterness to me.
