Chris Brown can remove one case from his mounting list of legal troubles. The “Fine China” singer has had a rough couple months after the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office charged him in a hit-and-run and driving without a license and proof of insurance. The two latter charges were dropped late last month, but a hearing was set yesterday for the hit-and-run charge.
Brown, who was not present at the hearing, won a small victory when the judge dismissed the charges.
According to TMZ:
“Chris Brown’s hit-and-run case was just dismissed, even though prosecutors argued Chris deserved to be punished and punished severely for his alleged vehicular misdeed.
“Chris and the victim struck a civil compromise — she didn’t want any money because the damage was so minor and she wanted the case dismissed. But the LA City attorney objected, arguing to the judge this morning that Brown was very aggressive toward the victim after the accident — calling her a ‘bitch.'”
The victory also means Brown will avoid jail time.
