Keep An Eye Out: Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out’ Again On MTV

Wild ‘N Out’ has returned to television courtesy of the most successful corny TV personality ever, Nick Cannon. Brought back by popular demand after a six-year hiatus, the new season kicks off in New York and promises to be grimier than all  previous seasons.

Cannon’s hilarious improv comedy show requires contestants to use improvise raps to verbally attack one another over a beat, in a lighthearted manner. The video below shows Kanye West demolishing the competition like a “Boss” in the 2008 season.

Cannon explained the new format to MTV, saying that viewers should expect a similar setup — with the black versus platinum teams this season — but a edgier show.

“The format is basically the same except that we’re a lot grimier because we went from Hollywood to New York,” he said. “In 2012, they said the world was gonna end and it didn’t, so this is the post-apocalyptic version. We took all of the bells and whistles, lights and colors away, and we’re just gonna get grimy, like we’re in a dungeon doing this.”

The rapper/comedian/actor/television host promises to feature amateur, emerging and big-name comedians and artists in the lineup. MTV writes:

“[The] new season is interesting because it gives him a chance to pair comedians and artists who grew up watching the show with emerging artists and comedians, making for a great dynamic. Artist cameos on this season include everyone from A$AP Rocky and Mac Miller to 2 Chainz and Joey BadA$$, while comedians include Lil Duval, Kevin Hart and Mike Epps.”

Wild ‘N Out’ premieres on MTV2 on Tuesday, July 9 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.
