Jennifer Lopez may be returning to “American Idol” after all?
J-Lo sat down with “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest for what appeared to be a top secret meeting on Friday.
Eyewitnesses spotted the pair joining together at an office building in Beverly Hills and it appeared as if Ryan wasn’t very happy about being spotted out.
It’s not secret that Fox wanted Lopez to join the show again after Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Nicki Minaj all got fired quit, but rumor had it that J. Lo didn’t want to return to the judge’s panel.
Does Seacrest have what it takes to convince her to take the “American Idol” gig anyway?
It’s definitely a possibility considering the fact that Lopez never actually turned down the offer publicly.
“I don’t know,” she answered when she was asked about the “American Idol” job on USA Today last month. “That’s the question of the moment. I loved doing the show. I’ve said that over and over. If it came down to it and things were right and it worked out right – we have a lot going on right now.”
The big problem for Lopez is her busy schedule. She has signed on to be the spokesperson for many products in addition to putting out her own new music and going on tours. So will she be able to fit the show in her schedule?
“For an offer to come in and for me to consider it, I would have to sit down and look at my next year,” she explained.
Seems like Lopez is pretty close to signing on for another season where she will join Jennifer Hudson on the panel.
Even if the “Dance Floor” songstress did sign on for another season, however, that still leaves us wondering who will be the male voice on the panel?
Keith Urban is the only judge who hasn’t quit the show, but rumor had it that producers were already planning to fire anyone who didn’t back out on their own.
Other insiders said the show wanted a full panel of “American Idol” alums, but it seems like that plan got thrown out the window as well after Kelly Clarkson decided she didn’t want to take the gig.
Only time will tell who we will see behind the panel next year, but one thing is for sure – producers better make sure there is no more beef and petty catfights between divas.
