Bruno Mars’ Mom Dies: Rihanna Sends Condolences via Twitter

Rihanna showed her support for pal Bruno Mars following the unexpected death of his mother this weekend, sending her condolences in a heartfelt message on Twitter.

Reports emerged over the weekend that the Treasure singer’s mother, Bernadette Hernandez, had been rushed to hospital after suffering a heart attack. It was later confirmed by the Associated Press that she died at age 55 of a brain aneurysm.

Rihanna, who performed with Mars at the Grammy Awards in February, sent her sympathy to the grieving hit maker via Twitter, writing: “Sending my love and condolences to @BrunoMars at this difficult time! I’m sincerely praying for you bro! #1Love.”

The pair shared the stage together at the prestigious awards ceremony to perform a tribute segment to Bob Marley, along with the reggae star’s sons Damian and Ziggy.

While Mars and his siblings remained silent over the weekend, family friend Anita Sojot told Star magazine that Hernandez was in a critical condition.
