Nicki Minaj Slams Mariah Carey on Twitter after ‘American Idol’

Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to bash her rival Mariah Carey as being an “insecure” and “bitter” woman after Carey took a few jabs of her own on the show.

Some things never change. Carey and Minaj were struggling to convince America that their petty beef was over, but Wednesday’s show proved that there is still just as much tension between the ladies as there was before.

It all started when the R&B songstress pointed out that the Young Money rapper never had a song hit number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 single chart. The comment was obviously Mariah’s way of addressing the fact that Billboard recently revealed that Minaj managed to reach the same amount of hits (44) on the Hot 100 chart.

While the mother of two still holds the record for the most days to have a song stay at number one on the chart with her hit “One Sweet Day,” you have to acknowledge the fact that Carey made that record back in 1995 and hasn’t been doing much musically in more recent years.

Anyway, Nicki couldn’t let the comment go without a good little Twitter spat so she took to social media to really let the twins’ mother have it.

“All dem #1s but JLo phone ringing? Lol,” the hip hop Barbie tweeted. “I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that.”

Ouch. If you didn’t know Minaj was referencing the fact that rumors have sparked that “American Idol” producers were looking to bring former judge JLo back on the show and whose seat would she be stealing? None other than Mariah’s.

Then she even gave Perez Hilton a few tips about what is the real question he needs to ask Nick Cannon’s wife – while also taking a little jab at Perez.

“What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy ass) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter @perezhilton,” she tweeted.

Carey might want to stop taking shots at the rap star and sparking up the Twitter rants because American Idol producers have only opened up about wanting to keep Nicki around for another season…. not Mariah.

Either way, however, it is unfortunate that the powerhouse songstress has been relentlessly going after Minaj since the show started, but we can’t but wonder who will be the mature person to end all the mess and ignore the childish comments.

At the end of the day, the ladies aren’t just being annoying for being so petty and catty. They are also suggesting to millions of Americans that are tuning in to the family show that when it comes down to it, you can’t put two women of color together in the same room or they’ll kill each other.

We forget that at this point in the game we all represent one another and right now Nicki and Mariah are both just embarrassing.
