Kelly Rowland to Replace Britney on X-Factor, Big Plans For New Music

Kelly Rowland is rumored to be right back on the X-Factor, just in another country, as Simon Cowell is rumored to be looking at Rowland to fill in Britney Spears’s seat on the judges panel. Meanwhile the R&B star is dropping hints of another Destiny’s Child Reunion amidst working on some of her own new music.

Kelly Rowland was snipped from the X-Factor UK, but it seems like she’s getting a second chance on the show – and a better one at that.

Simon Cowell is allegedly picking up Mrs. Rowland to join him on the X-Factor USA.

Daily Mail reports:

Cowell, 53, remains a ‘big fan’ of the singer even though she was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger on the X Factor UK last year, a source told MailOnline.

And Kelly, 32, is now ‘most definitely in the mix’ to replace Britney Spears on the third season of the Fox talent show, which airs later this year.

It’s not yet known whether Cowell will appear with three women on the judging panel – or hire another man to replace L.A. Reid.

It definitely seems like Cowell is still relying on getting the biggest names in the music industry to promise the X-Factor USA show success, but the show’s trend in ratings doesn’t suggest any good news.

According to the Daily Mail, adding Rowland to the US version of the show may cost Simon quite a pretty penny:

Kelly also reportedly tried to demand that her £500,000 pay be tripled if she made a return.

And last May, the singer, who lives in Miami, announced her departure from the series, saying: ‘I love the UK and being part of the show last year. Mentoring the girls was such an incredible experience I will never forget.

Of course booking Kelly as a judge could be a risk for both her and the show’s producers being that she just recently became such a hot current artist again in the States.

Meanwhile, the “Kisses Down Low” songstress has quite a few projects up her sleeve when it comes to new music.

First things first, it seems like the dynamic trio may be reunited once again.

NY Daily News reports:

Elle’s Women in Music event drew Kelly Rowland to the Edison Ballroom on W. 47th St. Wednesday night, where she hinted at another possible Destiny’s Child reunion. Rowland’s been spotted performing DC’s songs, including “Bootylicious,” around town, following her shining Super Bowl halftime show with Michelle Williams and Beyoncé. It’s not a no,” she told Confidenti@l about another DC album in the near future.

While that isn’t much of a guarantee it does have Destiny’s Child fans raising their brow wondering if the three songstresses will be joining forces again in the near future.

Quite frankly, with their new song “Nuclear” not being the major success they expected, it’s likely that the Destiny’s Child reunion chapter has finally closed for good.

That’s no problem for Kelly, however, because she has had her eye on some new partnerships as she continues to build her solo career.

According to CBS Local, rapper Nas might be the next big artist to hop on a track with the former Destiny’s Child member:

Kelly Rowland has secured the ladies of Destiny’s Child for a track on her forthcoming album, Talk a Good Game, but she still has some outstanding collabos to lock down. With a nod to a throwback Mariah Carey song, she has her eye on a record with Nas.

“I have something I want [Nas] to be on right now,” she told Radio.com. ”I just have to ask him.”

Cmon Nas, you couldn’t possibly say no to Kelly right?

Anyway, the song that inspired the collabo is the throwback jam from 1999 “Thank God I Found You.”

Of course, with Kelly regaining such popularity it’s not all about her having to ask people for collaborations – other R&B stars are coming to Rowland to turn their songs into hits as well.

Kelly Rowland joined forces with Fantasia and Missy Elliot to create Fantasia’s latest track “Without Me.”

The powerhouse songstress took to Twitter to express her excitement about working with the two ladies.

“So Thankful For These Two Beautiful Ladies. We Created A Monster on this Album.. Missy is Going STUPID HARD ON THIS 1!!! OMG!!! Kells VOCALS On Here!! Cra!! Thanks to my BABIES,” Fantasia tweeted after listening to the track.
