After being arrested for drunk driving on April 14, Kevin Hart has publicly taken responsibility for his foolish behavior.
“On some real s**t….drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter. People have lost lives because of stupid s**t this!” Hart tweeted. “This is a wake up call for me, I have to be smarter & last night I wasn’t….everything happens for a reason….”
Hart was pulled over at 4:30 a.m. after he almost crashed into a gas tanker truck on Los Angeles’ 101 Freeway. California Highway Patrol said he was driving in an erratic manner and was going 90 MPH. Hart then proceeded to show “objective signs of intoxication” and was “unable to perform field sobriety tests.”
Following his arrest, Hart was booked for a misdemeanor DUI and taken to a local jail. There he posted a $5,000 bond and was free to go. Based on his tweets, he hopefully won’t be driving under the influence again any time soon.
