Khloe Kardashian has reached out to offer support to Lamar Odom’s daughter after the teenager tweeted about her depression and cutting herself.
It wasn’t long ago that Lamar’s ex-wife Liza Morales was bashing Khloe Kardashian for being a bad mother, but it seems like she may not be the greatest mother in the world either.
Liza and Lamar’s daughter, Destiny has been battling with depression and some sources claim it’s due to an absence of any parental figure in her life – that means no Khloe, Lamar, or Liza.
“Her dad wasn’t around much when she was growing up,” the source said after explaining that Destiny feels as if she has nobody to go to about her emotional distress.
The telling tweet read, “I feel as if I am drowning in my own emotions, and I have no home to save me.”
Shortly after posting the tweet one of her followers asked her when was the last time she cut herself and how often she does it. Lamar’s daughter’s reply was heart breaking.
“Tonight and I don’t count,” she replied.
The troubled teen is only 14-years-old and has turned to harming herself to cope with her own emotional battles.
After discovering her step daughter was cutting herself and battling with depression, Khloe Kardashian revealed that she would do whatever it takes to help Destiny through such hard times.
“…Khloe has made a real effort to develop a strong relationship with Destiny,” a source close to the 14-year-old said.
Everyone can only hope that the reality star stays true to her word and bond with Destiny in a way that will make her feel as if she isn’t quite so alone after all.
Meanwhile, her mother Liza Morales has denied any claims that her daughter is harming herself but did admit to her battle with depression.
“This matter has been addressed with our daughter,” Liza told Radar. “We have a professional on board to evaluate the situation; Destiny is not hurting herself but we are not taking this lightly.”
The Starter Wives Confidential reality star’s new schedule doesn’t necessarily permit her tons of quality time with her children but she does claim that they are always her first priority.
“My children have always and will always be my top priority in life,” she added.
The mother-of-two made it clear that she is also ready to step in to help her daughter in whatever way she needs it the most, but that during this time she would appreciate it if her family allowed some privacy.
“With the added pressures of Hollywood and the instant attention of social media, it’s not always easy for a teenager to express their emotions in the best way,” Morales said. “This is a private family matter, and we would appreciate respect and privacy during this time.”
With her being a part of a new reality show, it isn’t certain how much privacy she will be given but one can only hope that the cameras at least leave her daughter out of it.
Since the incident happened, Destiny’s Twitter account has been deleted and her father Lamar Odom is yet to speak out about the situation.
