Keyshia Cole Disses Michelle Williams After Destiny's Child Reunion

Beyonce’s halftime show featuring a mini Destiny’s Child reunion during Super Bowl 47 made just about everyone’s night; big name celebrities included. However, at least one celebrity was not happy about it. Keyshia Cole had some really negative things to say about the Destiny’s Child performance; preferring to single out group member Michelle Williams. On her Twitter account Cole said, “I think I was frightened to blink for a sec. Then Michell(e) sung and woke my ass up from my daze! She always fuckN the groove up/But hey! I love y’all too! And y’all girl is WACK and always will be!”

Die-hard Destiny’s Child fans had a lot to say in response to Keyshia’s tweet. One Twitter user gave Cole some poignant career advice saying, “Dear Keyshia Cole, Until you can sing ON KEY, walk AND dance at the same time, we’re going to ask you as a NATION to have several seats.” Apparently many fans agreed with her because that tweet was re-tweeted a whopping 7881 times. Another user poked fun at how Keyshia Cole isn’t popular enough to even headline in her own town, let alone the Super Bowl. “Keyshia Cole still mad they asked her to open up for “The Weekend” In her own hometown !!! Lmao”

Trying to defend her remarks after the firestorm of backlash erupted on Twitter, Cole said, ‘By the way The B*tch Michell(e) said some foul sh-t while I was performing once. But no one recalls.’

No one recalls a Keyshia Cole performance? Shocking!

Actually, that’s not surprising at all, as she’s not memorable in the least. Cole is pretty irrelevant on the music scene these days as she’s too busy dissing her sister’s new book and filming reality TV shows. Because as an artist…that’s what’s most important. Reality TV and family feuds.

For her part, Michelle didn’t let the negativity on Twitter put a damper on the surprise performance. She took the high road after the game and tweeted, ‘Had a great time w/my sisters tonight!! Tried to keep it a surprise!! Love you all…God bless!!’

With over 5.5 million tweets being sent during her halftime performance, Queen Bey and Destiny’s Child certainly commanded not only the stage, but the attention of the nation. Other celebrities, perhaps more secure in their own talent, had much more supportive things to say via Twitter about the Super Bowl halftime show.

Beynoce’s husband, Sean Carter aka Jay-Z, tweeted, ‘Lights out!!! Any questions??’

Kanye’s pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian said, ‘OMG Beyonce killed it!!! And when Destiny’s Child came out…that made my life! #Bootylicious.’

Super producer and Grammy award winning writer Kandi Burruss simple said, ‘Beyonce was hot!!!! & Kelly Rowland & Michelle looked & sounded amazing too! I loved it.’

Perhaps two of the funniest tweets about Beyonce’s Super Bowl halftime performance came from Samuel L. Jackson and former MTV VJ Carson Daly.

Samuel L. Jackson, referencing the controversy over Bey not performing the National Anthem live at the Presidential Inauguration, tweeted: ‘I’m in the DON’T GIVE A F**K IF IT’S PRE-RECORDED OR NOT club!! B’s putting’ in WURK!!!!’

Carson Daly’s mind was on other things: ‘Please nipple gate come back.’

Many enjoyed the performance and were just happy to see the official reunion of Destiny’s Child kick off. However, what’s a story about Beyonce these days without a little controversy? According to some in the media, Beyonce’s microphone was the only one turned up while Destiny’s Child was performing. Sources at Forbes and CNN complained that they couldn’t hear either Michelle or Kelly during the ‘Independent Woman’ performance. No representative from either Bey’s camp or camp Destiny’s Child has confirmed this to be the case.

Either way, Samuel L. Jackson said it best. The ‘Single Ladies’ singer along with her ‘Independent Woman’ group members put in WURK!
