Michelle Williams: Destiny’s Child Super Bowl Reunion Not True

Fans were delighted when it was revealed that Destiny’s Child would be reuniting as part of Beyonce’s much-anticipated Super Bowl performance this Sunday.

But band member Michelle Williams has shot down their hopes, claiming the reports are false – and that prior commitments mean she will be in Washington, D.C.

“I’m going to be in the musical Fela!,” she told WRUG Media in a recent interview.

“I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true.”

Her claim appears supported by a website for the musical, which she headlines.

It lists two performances of Fela! at 3pm and 8pm on the day of the Super Bowl.

“I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry,” Williams continued. ‘But we did record a song with each other before the holidays.’

Had the reunion happened it would have been the first time in over six years that she and Kelly Rowland had performed with their former bandmate.
