When Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy announced their divorce they swore they would stay friends, but the actual divorce filings have already started to change all that.
Both Bethenny and Jason said that their main priority would remain to be their 2-year-old daughter Bryn, but with both parents wanting to keep their daughter close a nasty child custody battle has ensued.
Earlier this month Frankel filed divorce papers asking for primary custody of her adorable daughter, child support from Hoppy, and for her dental and medical insurance to be covered by Hoppy as well.
The demands sounded quite ridiculous to everyone except for Jason Hoppy himself who decided that he was going to ask for the exact same thing.
Frankel’s husband of two years isn’t going to fork over tons of cash without a battle, and with both parties’ list of demands being nearly identical it seems like the once “amicable” separation is turning into a nasty divorce.
Both Frankel and Hoppy also want to keep the other partner in their life insurance policies and have themselves and daughter Bryn listed as the beneficiaries.
As if fighting over their daughter, dental bills, and child support wasn’t enough the exes are also feuding over their lavish home.
Both parties have requested to have “exclusive use and occupancy of the marital residence.” The “marital residence” in question is giant $5 million Tribeca apartment that was recently featured in Traditional Home magazine.
While the divorce battle is just getting started it seems like Frankel is already moving on with her life while her soon to be ex-husband is still rocking his wedding ring.
During the separation and divorce process, the 42-year-old reality star had a special friend helping her move on – Warren Lichtenstein.
Lichtenstein is the head of a $4 billion New York based hedge fund called the Steel Partners that he co-founded back in 1990 and is also Frankel’s new landlord.
Sources reveal that Jason’s ex has moved into Lichtenstein’s $6.3 million apartment in Upper East Side N.Y. and even spent a day or two at his pad in Manhattan when he supposedly wasn’t at home.
The mother of one claimed that she headed to the Manhattan spot to spend some special quality time with her daughter.
Whether or not the two are dating isn’t clear, but it is certainly obvious that the two are extremely close.
“Bethenny and Warren have been great friends for more than 20 years, and he has really been a support system during this sad time,’ a source close to Bethenny said.
The Skinny Girl mogul did enjoy a very special afternoon out with someone she loved and adored, however, it just wasn’t the rich boyfriend that everyone was expecting.
Instead she spent some girl time out with daughter Bryn was they enjoyed a trip to Children’s Museum of the Arts in NYC.
Little Bryn was dressed in a bright pink number with a cute monkey hat, but her mommy didn’t look like she was in as good of spirits. Perhaps because the outing was just hours after the news broke that Jason responded to her divorce demands with some similar demands of his own.
Neither parent wants to budge, obviously, so the courts will have to decide who gets what. In the meantime, Hoppy is victorious in the battle of the home because he is currently living in the couple’s lavish apartment.
