One of the most highly anticipated movies in the upcoming year, Focus, has lost its lead actor, Ben Affleck. Focus built a star studded cast both behind the scenes and in the foreground.
The movie is both written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, directors of Crazy, Stupid, Love. Let’s not mention the viewer’s pleasure of watching Twilight’s Kristen Stewart under a new light. Unfortunately, Affleck, the main attraction, has dropped out of his role in the upcoming film. Reportedly, the actor’s schedule is rather hectic with an onslaught of upcoming jobs in the writer/director lane which he is more focused on at the moment.
Focus tells the story of the crossroads between a veteran con man and a young woman who is new to the con profession. But the loss of Affleck, has Warner Bros. scrambling to search for a new lead actor to fill the much needed position. Those shoes may be difficult to fill, to say the least, but the staff is hopeful to keep their scheduled Spring 2013 production start date.
