Country star LeAnn Rimes has come under fire, for allowing her stepson to find and consume laxatives, mistaking the pills for candy.
Rimes is married to Eddie Cibrian, who has two children with ex wife, Brandi Glanville, who stars on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Glanville claims, “Mason, my eldest, ate some of Le’s candies and got extremely ill. And Le’s candies are laxatives.”
After Mason got sick, the Real Housewives star was enraged, “It was a big f–king deal for me, and I lost my mind,” Granville said. “They don’t keep sugar in the house. He thought he finally found candy,” she explained.
This pill incident raises additional speculation in terms of Rimes’s mental health and alleged eating disorder. Earlier this year, the singer completed a stint in rehab to work on her “emotional health.” She denied she was seeking treatment for an eating disorder, despite her rail-thin appearance. The pill incident only adds credence to this speculation.
Glanville is concerned enough about Rimes’s behavior that she doesn’t want her children left alone with the singer. “I, unfortunately, don’t find her to be stable and I don’t want her around my kids when Eddie’s not there — or at least the nanny, his parents, someone,” Glanville said. She also alleged Rimes did not make her son put on a helmet while riding his bike.
After Glanville’s attacks, Rimes released a statement through her publicist. In a statement to E!, Rimes’s publicist Marcel Periseau denied the pill allegations:
“[Granville’s]whole show is based on controversy, drama and publicity,” Periseau said. “She is the only one to gain by spewing forth inaccuracies, rants and half-truths. It’s time for people to see it for what this really is…What better way to keep herself relevant?”
Periseau continued, “Brandi keeps using threatening and mean-spirited statements…LeAnn and Eddie have the boys 50 percent of the time, so they are a family and LeAnn is a great and caring co-parent. As Brandi stated ‘my boys love her’ and LeAnn loves them.”
It seems like Rimes should just keep a better watch on her “candy.” The entire ordeal between Glanville and Rimes probably has as much to do with the pill allegations as it does Cibrian. Cibrian and Glanville were married from 2001-2009, during which time he allegedly had an affair with Rimes.
As soon as Cibrian filed for divorce from Glanville, he went public with his relationship with Rimes. In addition to sorting out past bitterness from the affair allegations, it seems the threesome could use a lesson in co-parenting.
