Amber Riley from ‘Glee’ Makes Theatrical Debut in ‘Cotton Club Parade’

The pop-musical TV star takes on New York City Center’s return production of this joyous Duke Ellington revue. Amber Riley has sung the music of everyone from Whitney Houston to Aretha Franklin on FOX’s hit musical drama Glee, but now she’s taking on the timeless tunes of Duke Ellington in New York City Center’s acclaimed production of Cotton Club Parade, to run November 14-18.

Conceived by Jack Viertel, the show is a celebration of the famed Harlem nightclub in the 1920s and ’30s. Warren Carlyle directs and choreographs the production, which features music direction by Wynton Marsalis.

In addition to the Jazz at Lincoln Center All Stars under the direction of Daryl Waters, the show also features the talents of Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox, Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry, and tap dancer extraordinaire Jared Grimes, along with a super-talented supporting cast.
