Glamour Magazine’s Women of the Year show brought in some of the biggest names from fashion and music to sports on Monday night as part of the magazine’s yearly celebration. Olympic gold medal winner Gabby Douglass joined entertainment stars like Mary J. Blige, Solange Knowles and Pharrell Williams at New York City’s Carnegie Hall for the 22nd annual awards ceremony. Selena Gomez graces the cover of Glamour’s December issue honoring the women who made big impacts in 2012.
“This year’s issue has a whole other layer of greatness: Women made the whole thing. Yes, our December 2012 issue is a women’s-photography spectacular—every photo commissioned for this issue was taken by a woman,” Glamour reports.
Douglas also made the cover of Essence’s 2012 Women of the Year issue, ahead of Michelle Obama and Robin Roberts. “In my dreams I didn’t think about how many shows I would be on and how many people would tweet me…it’s so cool!” she told the magazine.
The days of social media users teasing the 16-year-old Olympian for her hair are long over as she celebrates her fabulous year in style.
