The quite minimal, simple and understated logo for the upcoming zombie flick World War Z has surfaced online, letting just about everyone know that its promotional campaign is in full swing.
The logo comes just one day after its first clip was released. While this might suggest that key plot points, a full cast, and memorable quotes have also been showcased, the marketing team has been nothing but coy in releasing material. It’s no surprise that the newly released logo is everything concerning the terms sleek and basic.
World War Z will follow Brad Pitt as Gerry Lane, a UN employee racing against time and fate as he travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly zombie pandemic. Is he also a doctor? What about his family? Why does Brad Pitt still look so pretty (he’s 49)? Most of these questions can be answered by Max Brook’s novel from which the film is based.
The questions concerning quality, unfortunately, still remain under speculation. So far, the film adaptation has die-hard fans of the novel reeling. The selection of Marc Forster as a director and Damon Lindelof as screenwriter has – so far – been seen as controversial. Damon, who helped pen Cowboys & Aliens, Prometheus, and a significant amount of Lost episodes is also slated to script the upcoming Star Trek sequel. Of course, Forster is mostly recognized by his work in Quantum of Solace (which isn’t a good thing).
Still, we’d say it’s far too early to judge. Hopefully, with the trailer supposedly dropping this Friday, fans of the novel will find comfort in the fact that the production has gone well and World War Z will be every bit as amazing as they think it deserves to be. In the meantime, check out the logo below (good enough for a poster?).
