Nicki Minaj certainly revealed a lot during her three part reality special on E! and day one alone revealed her American Idol doubts, dispelled Rihanna rumors, and showed how the rappers attitude seems to get a little nasty when things don’t go her way.
Nicki’s rivalry with her new American Idol co-judge, Mariah Carey, was a trending topic for weeks and the rap star spills her true feelings about the feud.
At one point the hip hop Barbie was passing off the arguments as if she really had no problem with Carey, but the clips shown during her reality special titled Nicki Minaj: My Truth tell a different story.
“I think Mariah met her match this time, and I don’t think she was expecting to meet her match,” the wig loving super star admitted in her confessional.
The drama between her and her fellow judge was just another drop in the bucket of reasons why she was so unsure about doing the show in the first place. As surprising as it may seem, the “Starships” rapper was actually afraid of having people judge her.
“I’m super nervous and anxious for the first day on American Idol,” she explained. “I’m still second guessing my decision. I’m probably going to be a hundred times guessing this decision because I’m human.”
In fact, her nerves about what people would think of her even made the “Masquerade” crooner late for the first day of taping the show.
“Picking out the outfit, this is one thing that adds to the anxiety of the first day,” Minaj explained. “To come out and have these people seeing me and not knowing what they’re going to think and knowing you’re going to be judged.”
Matters got worse when the new American Idol judge realized that her stylist brought a collection of clothes that she didn’t approve of. The color loving rapper turned pop star claimed that the rows and rows of black and red clothes weren’t her style and she refused to wear any of the outfits for the first day.
During a conference with her stylist and other members of her team, she claims that the wardrobe situation was a “Dee-saster.”
In addition to being late for American Idol, she also ended up being late for her segment on The View as well due to the fact she believed the show was pre-recorded.
“I thought it was a taping,” the curvaceous Barbie admitted. “Little did I know it was a live show. I missed my segment. They had to push my segment back.”
Despite how short and blunt she was with her team, however, she was more than friendly when it came to her fans and admitted that many times they are the only reason she gets out of bed in the morning.
Throughout the first episode she also shares her experience launching her first fragrance, dealing with an assistant who constantly orders her the wrong food, and of course working on new music in the studio.
She even sheds some light on rumors that her and Rihanna got into a fight at the VMAs.
“So you believe that I told Rihanna to ‘sit yo ass down,’” the rap mistress questioned with a bewildered look on her face. “No I never told Rihanna to sit her ass down.”
Perez Hilton was the one who spark the rumors on his celebrity gossip blog claiming that Nicki Nick had a verbal spat with RiRi.
Needless to say it was a bit surprising to hear that the YMCMB bombshell would have any beef with Rihanna considering the songs the pair have worked on together… but then again they didn’t stop her from going off on Mariah either.
