Beyonce has returned to the studio to work on her fifth studio album. While the list of features, writers and producers continue to grow, R&B singer Miguel may soon join that list. The “Adorn You” singer “triple confirmed” a collaboration with Beyonce is in the works.
“I just got word that I’ll be in [the studio] with Beyonce tomorrow which is amazing,” Miguel revealed after his October 26 performance. Even he had to admit that when he first heard the news, he figured it was just a rumor.
“I heard it from my team, and I was like, ‘Are you serious? Are you sure? Are we talking about the Beyonce?’ And after taking a second to confirm and double confirm and triple confirm, I’m excited to hear the direction of her new material,” Miguel added.
Although the 26-year-old R&B crooner was excited to work with the “Countdown” singer, he did admit that he isn’t all that prepared for the experience so he’s going to just “ride that wave.”
“I think being a part of someone else’s creative process is all about having your surf board ready and just [being] ready to ride that wave,” he explained. “I don’t really know what she sees for herself or what direction she’d like to go with this album and I think that’s the exciting part about it. You just ride the wave and see where it goes, so I’m really excited.”
