Alicia Keys has dropped “Girl on Fire” video, the first single from her latest album of the same name. Despite releasing the radio version with vocals from rapper Nicki Minaj, she is nowhere to be found in this video.
The album expected to drop on November 27th will feature the likes of John Legend, Babyface, Emeli Sandé, Pop & Oak, Swizz Beatz, and a duet with Maxwell.
Over the summer while promoting the album, Keys admitted that becoming a wife and a mother has provided her with a different perspective and thereby impacting her sound. “There’s a real solidness that I’ve never felt in my life before, that comes from having a stability in my family and having a focus and purpose because of my family. I’ve always had my own purpose. But there’s something broader and clearer about having something outside of yourself.”
“That’s definitely my story, 100,000 percent,” she said. “But that thing happens to all of us. Even though it’s my story, it’s everybody’s story. That’s ultimately the goal: that people can feel what you feel.”
