2 Chainz had one of the most memorable performances at the BET Hip Hop Awards thanks to a church choir and an appreciation for a certain high-end label.
After a hilarious hypothetical eulogy from host Mike Epps, the rapper took the stage with a huge church choir in tow for his hit “Birthday Song.” 2 Chainz looked quite dapper in a black suit and skinny tie, perhaps a nod at the G.O.O.D. music crew. After that song, he ran to piano to show off his playing skills and stripped himself of the suit and went on to perform “I’m Different” in a crisp black tee and jeans.
2 Chainz’s stage set up was just as interesting as his performance. The stage was adorned with red, white and green accents which made it look like 2 Chainz was performing in a Gucci store.
In addition to bringing the house down as a performer, the Atlanta native also took home a few trophies. He won the People’s Champ Award, Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse for his bars in “Mercy” and Rookie of the Year.
