Rihanna and Chris Brown Receive Blessings From Oprah

Rihanna has received the blessings of one of the most influential talk show hosts on television, Oprah Winfrey, who finds nothing wrong with RiRi reconnecting with ex Chris Brown.

Ever since the controversial couple has been meeting up nearly every day for the past week and three consecutive nights last weekend, fans of both singers are in shock.

Rihanna has been criticized non-stop by her followers, critics, and even her mentor Jay-Z couldn’t help but share how disappointed he was with her for letting Brown back into her life.

Jay-z refused to give the “Where Have You Been” crooner his blessings, but Oprah’s blessings are certainly just as good – if not better.

The host of Oprah’s Next Chapter previously had a very intimate interview with the “We Found Love” songstress which immediately became one of the most talked about interviews on television.

The 24-year-old admitted that she still loved her ex, despite the fact that he beat her back in 2009.

“I have no judgment about it,” Oprah told Extra. “That’s why I can sit there and have such a great time with her because I do all my interviews with no judgment whatsoever.”

According to the iconic journalist, it’s ultimately a decision about if RiRi is ready to deal with the scars of Chris’s past.

“I think that if she is prepared to deal with that and is prepared to help him help himself then so be it,” Oprah added. “If that’s how you choose to lead your life, that’s really okay.”

The queen of day time television also admitted that she believes the “S&M” crooner is learning so much about forgiveness, a lesson she had to learn a long time ago with her father who was also abusive towards her mother.

The Bajan beauty said that at one point she had to realize that her father really was a good man, but he had to overcome some “personal demons.”

With nobody else standing in the “Don’t Wake Me Up” singer/rapper’s corner, it may be up to the Battleship actress to break through to him, because nobody else seems willing to even give it a shot.

The 23-year-old R&B bad boy did at least try to explain himself for once – instead of just wearing an ‘Oops’ chain and moving on with life – by posting a new video expressing his feelings about the entire love triangle situation.

He titled the video “The Real Chris Brown” and almost takes the angle of being the victim in the situation.

“I’m stressed out… when you share history with somebody, then you tend to fall in love with somebody else, it’s kinda difficult,” the “Look at me Now” rapper stated in the video. “Is there such thing as loving two people? I don’t know if that’s possible, but for me, I feel like that.”

If the video is just his was of expressing himself, then the video does all it can, but if the video is an attempt to save his image it definitely doesn’t get the job done.

Even his ex girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, was unimpressed with the sappy video.

“Wtf is going on,” Tran tweeted after viewing the clip. “All I’m saying is… You don’t mess with people’s genuine feelings. You just don’t! Life moves on… So let’s all.”

Well the aspiring model is clearly over the entire love triangle fiasco, but Jay-Z’s mentee still defended her boo over Twitter.

“Ain’t nobody bidness… But mine and my baby,” the Bajan songstress tweeted.

Rihanna wasn’t just busy defended her ex on Twitter, though. She also used the social networking site to promote her new fragrance.

“Here is my new add for a brand new fragrance #NUDE !!! Make sure you smell sexy, especially naked, this fall,” Chris Brown’s ex tweeted in addition to posting an image of the ad.

If Chris Brown was stuck between ladies before, this ad will definitely have his mind made up on one lady.

The 24-year-old has a radiant smile on her face as she peers through her blonde hair wearing nothing more than a cream lace bra.

Loose, flowing fabrics strategically cover the singer’s crotch as the bottle of perfume is pictured right beside her.

Still independent.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
