One Direction was sitting on top of the charts because of their single “Live While We’re Young” but they were knocked out by Rihanna’s “Diamonds.”
“Diamonds” was originally slated to be released next month but Rihanna decided to move the date up and announced the new single last week. After it was released to the radio stations and generated buzz, the Bajan beauty hopped on her Twitter page to express her gratitude. “I’m floored and humbled! Thanks to everybody y’all are the greatest,” she tweeted. “I just wanna send blessings to everyone who was a part of making this day a special one for me! I won’t ever forget this day, so thanks to u.”
Rihanna was last spotted galavanting around New York in a pair of thigh-high snakeskin boots. She is in New York to help celebrate the opening of the 40/40 Club in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in addition to paying a visit to the home of her late grandmother. “Im back at #grangrandollys for the first time without her going through her stuff,” she tweeted about the visit.
