Sheldon Candis’ LUV, which stars rapper Common, hits theaters November 9th and an intense-looking trailer has been released just in time to get us ready for the upcoming film.
The passionate coming-of-age crime drama follows an 11-year-old boy (Michael Rainey Jr.) and his shady uncle (Common), as they embark on a dangerous afternoon filled with gunplay and other dubious activities.
In the trailer we see that Raineys’s character looks up to his uncle, but is his world is turned upside down when his uncle leads him to play hooky from school. Someone gets shot and things just get worse from there.
LUV, which debuted earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, looks like a great opportunity for Common to show off his acting chops. He is supported by a top-notch cast that includes Danny Glover, Dennis Haysbert, Michael Kenneth Williams, Meagan Good and Lonette McKee.
Check out the trailer below and see if you’ll be showing LUV some love in the theater in November.
