Actresses Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, and Kerry Washington are all scheduled to take the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. while Olympic Gold medalist Gabby Douglas lead the Pledge of Allegiance on Wednesday night.
According to sources a list was released of surprise celebrity speakers – that surprise is officially out of the box. On the list included A-list actresses Scarlett, Natalie, Kerry and Eva Longoria. All four women who have been vocal supporters of President Obama in the past are reportedly scheduled to take the stage Thursday. In the latest update Portman is only a rumor – time will tell when the convention begins this evening.
At the Republican National Convention, actor and director Clint Eastwood stole the spotlight – we will see which of these ladies will do that tonight.
Last night Olympian Gabby Douglas donned a black and white dress to lead the crowd in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. She swayed back and fourth with a tinge of nervousness but pulled it through.
Meanwhile the golden child of the Olympics is working on a memoir scheduled for a Christmas release.
The memoir, titled “Grace, Gold and Glory, My Leap of Faith,” will focus on her journey after leaving home in Virginia at the age of 12 to train for the Olympics. It “will also be about how much my family and I have overcome during our journey.”
