Usher Raymond and his ex-wife Tameka Raymond returned to court on Monday to battle out their custody dispute. Just two weeks after Tameka buried her 11-year old son Kile she’s fighting to maintain custody for her two youngest boys. During their brief two year marriage Usher and Tameka welcomed Usher V and Naviyd now 4 and 3 respectively.
According to court documents Usher is requesting sole custody of the boys citing Tameka as a bad mother. The former stylist told the judge she begged the R&B singer to withdraw his petition,
“I was like, ‘It’s ridiculous, are you mad at me? I don’t know why. You know your kids are fine. They’re happy. They’re productive.’ … Maybe I don’t do everything perfectly, but I do the best I can.”
When asked about his ability to provide care for the boys Usher admitted that his schedule is inconsistent, “I try to do all of my work when I don’t have the children, but there may be times when there’s an obligation of something that comes up.”
It also appears to former couple had a disagreement over visitation soon after Kile Glover’s tragic accident,
“Of course, there was no provision for visitation regarding the death of a child. I’m sorry I didn’t stick with my visit days, but my son passed.”
The hearing is expected to wrap up on Wednesday. Hopefully both Usher and Tameka will agree to something that is best for their children.
