'Lethal Weapon 5' Loses Mel Gibson

A year ago Warner Bros hinted they were interested in making the fifth installment of the Lethal weapon franchise. However, if the studio plans to move forward with making Lethal Weapon 5, they’re gonna need two new lead actors because Mel Gibson is a no go and Danny Glover doesn’t seem like he’s up for another one either.

In an interview with Cominsoon.net, Gibson made it very clear that he will not do another Lethal Weapon.

“No” said Gibson,  “I think the way things are going, they’ll just remake those somehow. Though it’s really tough to replace Danny [Glover]. He was so amazing in those things. It was a good gig for us. They really afforded me the opportunity to slow down and pick things and do things that really interested me.”

Gibson is referring to his Viking “baby,” titled Berserker.  The actor-director went on to explain how his project has  a good chance of going forward due to some big names that want to do it.

“I’ve got a great script,” he continued. “And the idea’s been batting around my head for years. And I couldn’t find a way to make it work, because if you look at what Vikings did, they’re pretty unsympathetic. And there’s no point in doing Viking light. So I had to find a way to find devices and ways to make that work dramatically, intelligently and make it seem realistic.”

Gibson is no stranger to pushing the envelop in his films. One of his most controversial pieces, The Passion Of The Christ offended many as he graphically recreated the killing of Jesus Christ by the Jews.

Sincee Lethal Weapon 5 will not see Mel Gibson return, its pretty safe to assume the same thing applies to Danny Glover because this time he really is too old for this s***!  If the fifth installment will be anything like its predecessors, there is no way the 66 year-old actor can keep up with those crazy stunts.
