Katherine Jackson Grandson Claims She Wanted Him to Have Custody

In the confusing mess that is the Jackson’s ongoing family drama, Katherine Jackson’s grandson T.J. in court papers contends that Katherine wanted him to take over the guardianship of Michael’s children and told him so the day before she read her statement on national television claiming she was “devastated.”

The documents, which were obtained by TMZ, were filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court in advance of yesterday’s hearing during which Judge Mitchell Beckloff granted temporary custody of Michael’s three children to T.J., Tito’s 34-year-old son.

In one of the document’s most damning accusations, T.J. claims that one of his aunts, either Janet Jackson or Rebbie, arranged for someone to impersonate a doctor to convince Katherine to fly with them to Arizona.

In the statement she read on ABC last night in her defense, Katherine said, “There are rumors going around about me that I have been kidnapped and held against my will,” she said. “I am here today to let everybody know that I am fine and I am here with my children, and my children would never do a thing to me like that, holding me against my will. It’s very stupid for people to think that.”

She also added that “The ruling in court today was about the guardianship and I think it was based on a bunch of lies, but I have a good idea who’s doing that and who’s behind that,” she said. “But I am grateful for my children that they saw that I needed rest and they wanted to take me away for a while, just a short vacation and rest up.”

T.J. says in the papers that he has been assisting in the care of Paris, Prince and Blanket since Michael died and that Katherine put the children in his care even before she went to Arizona. T.J claims that when he finally spoke to Katherine on Tuesday,
she “indicated to me that she supported me in taking steps that I deemed appropriate to protect [MJ’s children].”

But in her statement Katherine said she was “devastated” by the court’s decision to take away her custody rights.

“There’s a lot of lies that have been put out there and I am going home to straighten them out and this kind of stuff doesn’t make sense,” she said. “So I want to say goodbye and I am on my way home.”
