VH1 is preparing to add a few more exes to the Hollywood Exes cast.
Daphne Wayans, ex-wife of Keenan Ivory Wayans, has joined the cast of the hit show, according to TMZ. She was seen out with her soon-to-be costars and the women seemed to get along very well. She was married to Wayans from 2001 to 2004 and the divorce was famously messy with Daphne being surprised after coming home and seeing all of her belongings gone and her utilities turned off.
If she is added to the show, she will be joining existing cast members Andrea Kelly, Nicole Murphy, Mayte Garcia, Jessica Canseco and Sheree Fletcher, who were married to R. Kelly, Eddie Murphy, Prince, Jose Canseco and Will Smith, respectively. According to Starcasm, there will be two other women added to the cast as well, Tracey Edmonds, former wife of Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and ex-girlfriend of Eddie Murphy, and rapper Sandra “Pepa” Denton. The show currently airs every Wednesday on VH1.
Even though Hollywood Exes is a bit classier than some of its reality show peers (like Basketball Wives, for instance), the two new cast members are curious, since both of these women, Tracey Edmonds and Pepa Denton, have had enormously successful careers themselves—Pepa obviously as half of an iconic rap group and Edmonds as an award-winning producer of such films as Jumping the Broom, Good Luck Chuck, Soul Food (movie and television series), Light It Up and the College Hill reality show.
As for Wayans, there has been no word from Keenan’s camp about his ex-wife’s new endeavor.
In other Wayans family related news, Keenan’s brother Marlon is preparing to hit the theaters with two new movies. Wayans and producer Rick Alvarez, with whom he collaborated on Scary Movie 2 and White Chicks, are writing a parody of the hit thriller Paranormal Activity, according to About.com. The film is currently untitled but it was originally called Smart Ass. The film will allegedly star Wayans, Essence Atkins and Cedric the Entertainer. Wayans is also releasing another Scary Movie film in spring 2013.
