Grammy-Award winning artist Mariah Carey and former Disney star Miley Cyrus are topping the list to replace leaving judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
Both Tyler and Lopez confirmed their decision on Friday leaving only Randy Jackson.
JLo on her exit,
“I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I’ve put kind of on hold because I love ‘Idol’ so much.”
Steven on his exist,
“I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit,” Tyler added, in a reference to the thriller movie, “Fatal Attraction.” “I got two fists in the air, and I’m kicking the door open with my band.”
Rumors immediately surfaced that Mariah Carey is a strong contender. If you recall Simon Cowell tried but failed to secure Mariah for X Factor instead he settled for Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.
According to the Washington Post,
“Fox may be scouting for an entirely new panel, with some reports suggesting that original “Idol” judge Randy Jackson, 56, could shift to another role while Carey, whom he manages, becomes a judge. Jackson’s and Carey’s publicists did not respond to requests for comment.”
Who do you think would be a good fit for American Idol?
