Brad Pitt’s Mom Upset With Obama’s Gay Marriage Stance

It seems Brad Pitt and his mother Jane don’t share the same opinion when it comes to same-sex marriage. While Pitt and fiancee Angelina Jolie are avid supporters for LGBT community, Mama Pitt is not.

In a letter published on News-Leader, the Pitt matriarch urged her fellow Christians to vote for presidential nominee from Republican Party, Mitt Romney, instead of reigning candidate from Democrat, Barack Obama. She slams the latter for supporting gay marriage and abortion.

She voices her support for Romney, “I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.”

She adds, “Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama – a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”

When the letter hit the web, a lot of online readers demanded verification of whether or not it’s really written by Brad’s mother. The readers had hard time to believe Jane opposed same-sex marriage because her son once declared that he wouldn’t marry Angelina until gay marriage was legalized.

The News-Leader initially said it’s not the actor’s mother who wrote the letter, but the publication later backtracked the denial by confirming the writer was indeed Jane Pitt. “Editor’s note: To clear up earlier confusion, the News-Leader has verified the letter writer is the mother of actor Brad Pitt and local businessman Doug Pitt,” it said.
