R&B crooner D’Angelo has joined the lineup of the star studded performers expected at the 2012 BET Awards. D’Angelo reemerged on the scene earlier this year after a long self imposed hiatus. July 1st on the BET stage will mark the first time in 12 years the singer has performed for a televised program.
“Usually, we love to keep surprises…but this year we want EVERYONE watching when D’Angelo takes the stage at the BET Awards!,” stated BET’s President of Music Programming Stephen G. Hill before adding, “His talents have been away from us for far too long and we’re excited and honored that he’s decided to make his American re-entry at this year’s BET Awards.”
Other performers for the award show to be hosted by Samuel L Jackson includes, Usher, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, G.O.O.D. MUSIC, Pusha T, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Wale and 2 Chainz.
